Transcendental Meditation


Transcendental Meditation, or TM, is an ancient technique taught by Marhaishi Marhesh Yogi as part of his science of creative intelligence. It is probably practiced by more people than any other type of meditation. TM provides a state of unity within--a state of restful alertness.

TM is generally practiced by taking 20 minutes each morning and evening. By closing one's eyes, a mantra, sound or vibration is recited mentally. The mind is allowed to enter deeper levels of consciousness. As such, areas of the mind are stimulated that are otherwise not normally exercised during daily activity.

TM is sometimes described as an unfoldment of consciousness--which is like the Sun behind a cloud, TM dissolves the cloud to reveal the light.
